What started as a hand-drawn poster that was posted at local beaches in Boca Raton has grown to a campaign that is international in scope. Our posters hang in every state in the United States, as well as in many countries. Places that display the poster have reported reduced amounts of cigarette litter, which means reduced maintenance costs, increased water quality, less risk of fires, and better health for animal life and for the Earth. Some of the large cigarette companies are now including litter notices on their packages. Keep America Beautiful has directed efforts towards an initiative on this single issue. And many smokers are using disposable ashtrays or have changed their butt disposable habit – we are all making a difference!
